APPLICATION REVIEW / GROUNDING & BONDING
CCS for grounding and bonding
Evaluate the complete grounding conductor and connection system against the project duty. Start with the installation requirements, then confirm the CCS construction.
01 / DEFINE THE TASK
A specification
for the complete system.
A copper-equivalent label alone does not confirm fault-current performance, connection compatibility or suitability for the installation. The conductor and connections need a project-specific review.
| Requirement | Information to provide | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical duty | Fault current, duration and applicable project requirements | Defines the duty that the conductor and connections must be evaluated against. |
| Actual conductor | Cross-section, strand count, individual wire diameter and maximum DC resistance at the stated temperature | Keeps actual geometry and resistance separate from an equivalency label. |
| Installation environment | Exposure, soil or site conditions, routing and protection | Provides the conditions for material and connection evaluation. |
| Connection system | Connector type, joint method and accepted qualification records | Material choice does not automatically preserve the previous connection approval. |
02 / REQUIREMENT TO ACCEPTANCE
Plan the qualification.
- 01
Align the requirement
Agree on the conductor drawing, electrical duty and acceptance basis.
- 02
Evaluate trial material
Review sample dimensions, electrical and mechanical data, and connection compatibility.
- 03
Confirm acceptance
Complete the project-required system evaluation before accepting a material change.
The tests and acceptance criteria follow the applicable project requirements. This guide is a starting point for review, not an approval of a particular installation.
03 / PRODUCT AND EVIDENCE
Keep the records
linked to the conductor.
Request current product data and relevant test records for the grade, dimensions and construction under review.
