30% versus 40% IACS CCS: compare cost on the required duty

Original publication: · Reviewed:

Compare 30% and 40% IACS offers using the required resistance, dimensions, strength and quantity. A higher conductivity class is not automatically the lowest installed cost, and the percentages do not describe copper content.

The published General Clad grade directory includes 21, 25, 30, 32, 35, 40, 53 and 55% IACS. A discussion of three classes does not define the whole portfolio.

The 40% IACS round-wire listing gives 0.06–5 mm diameter; the other seven grade records give 0.06–6.54 mm. These are catalog references; confirm the current combination of diameter, condition and performance for your request.
