CCA / CCAA strength review
High-tension CCA and CCAA — define strength and material basis
A strength-focused designation needs a defined core, material condition and complete acceptance specification.
Clarify the historical product label
The legacy General Clad high-tension category lists 10, 15, 25, 30 and 35 designations. Do not interpret these numbers as %IACS or approved copper fractions without the corresponding current specification.
Identify the aluminum or aluminum-alloy core, copper fraction and its basis, dimensions, material condition and required tensile strength and elongation.
- Current product designation and core/alloy
- Copper fraction basis and copper-layer requirements
- Geometry, resistance, strength and elongation
Evaluate the finished construction
Compare electrical and mechanical performance at the actual finished size and stated test conditions. Strength, conductivity and processing behavior may need different acceptance tests.
Raytron is the primary group entry for CCA/CCAA material capability. Confirm the responsible product team, current supply combination and complete qualification plan for your application.
- Drawing, stranding and termination conditions
- Customer standard and acceptance method
- Samples, packaging, traceability and quotation
