CCS manufacturing techniques: compare the resulting wire

Original publication: · Reviewed:

Compare manufacturing routes through finished-wire evidence: dimensions, electrical resistance, mechanical properties and copper-layer integrity. A process name alone is not a ranking of product quality.

Define the required construction

Start with steel-core identity, copper-layer requirements and finished diameter. The supplier should identify the relevant manufacturing route for the specific product and any agreed process controls.

General Clad has published historical descriptions of its cladding and drawing development. Confirm the current route for the selected product; do not treat a historical article as proof of every present process or machine.

Connect process steps to acceptance

No manufacturing label by itself guarantees defect-free wire, a non-peeling interface or suitability for all downstream processes. Define inspection and trial requirements for the intended duty.
